Carphone Microphone gain adjustment

I have a CL600 with the fixed kit for a 6310 all works fine with the exeption that pepale tell me that the sound on the call at the other end is distorted particularly if i rasie my voice.

Can I adjust the microphone gain?

Fixed kit - is it a Nokia CARK-91? If so, there are no external controls for microphone gain so I'd say that something is faulty.

Might be worth cleaning the contacts in the cradle and the phone.
