CLK 230k or 320V6?

hi, due to my golfs serious petrol addiction ive decided it has to go, i was considering a tdi version of the golf but i drove a friends CLK the other day and have forgotten how much i like them, so my questions were really, should i go for a 320 or 230? ive driven both in the past and either are much better than my Golf on fuel, i will need to get rid of my car and buy one for similar value or maybe put in £1k or so more, so i will be looking at a '98 or '99 one, are these ok on the whole compared to the facelift models? is the really alot of difference between them apart from the indicators on the mirrors and the tiptronic box? thanks in advance

V6 every time for me. The four cylinder Kompressor engines may be powerful for their size, but they aren't pleasant. The 3.2 V6 on the other hand is a very good engine.

Agree with Steve, the 230K goes equally as well but suffers slighty on economy believe it or not (as per manufacturers figures), the V6 is the better option.

Any reason why you aren't keen on the 430?

got the 230k in the end,was put of the 430 by fuel consumption but nothing else,ive heard thier great just a tad thirsty

Changed my Corrado VR6 for a CLK320 a year or so ago. The 230K is very dull by comparision. My only regret is I didn't go for a 430 thinking it would be too dear to run.

Get a 320 or a 430.

Spooky .... so did I, a Storm for a 320 but 6 years ago. Bit of a different ride to a Corrado though, eh?
