Newbie looking to buy W205 C220D
Discussion
There is a reason you see a fair number on the roads, they are pretty bulletproof. The 220d engine is in pretty much every merc made in the last 10+years so its a well proven engine.
My father had an E220d estate, it did 70ish MPG on a run and was more than happy sitting at fast motorway cruises. He had zero issues with that car in 4 years and 60k miles.
Nox sensors can be an issue but mostly with town driven cars. Its a stupid bit of design having the sensor and brain hard wire connected to each other but thats car design for you!
The quality on the W205 is pretty good as well, they wear miles well. The centre console can be changed for wood if you prefer, the plastic can look a little cheep.
What spec is the one you are looking at? Premium?
Any other questions let me know!
