Hello
Just got my G Wagon 24 Model as above there is no remote start in the Mercedes me app...seems strange, spoke to MB they said its not available in UK I have had an E Class before (at half the price) and that had it

Just asking if this 100% correct, thanks

Unless it is one of the features that I have yet to discover, I don't think my W213 facelift E Class has Remote Start.

Why would anyone want to start the engine of a car whilst they were not inside it?
Perhaps to run the heater, but if the doors were also unlocked, an uninsured theft risk would be present.

Some obscure features that I have discovered;
Voice command;
What is 8 times 4? (Educational - ask young children to answer arithmetic questions, before the lady who lives behind the dashboard).
Sound of a horse?
Who is Santa Claus? (Don't try that when young children are in the car).

smile

Sadly you are right, remote start isnt avalible on petrol/diesel models in the UK. The electric models have it but no ICE cars, i veleive due to emissions regulations.

I have no doubt someone would be able to code the feature in for you if they can get past all the new security features.

No idea how you have had an E class with it, Ive never heard of any UK spec e class having this feature! (Then again my father had a 2016 E class with full self driving kit enabled from the factory)

My 2024 Range Rover Autobiography Hybrid P550e has this - it starts the engine and warms up the car....

it doesnt - the car is heated by your hybrid systems battery. Most modern hybrids do this. And from what i've seen on my partners Hybrid Toureg, it will refuse to activate the remote heating ( or cooling) if there is no juice left in the battery - it wont use the engine to do this.

Remote start has never been a feature for a UK sold Mercedes as far as im aware so its likely been coded in.

Cars that would have remote start would remote start with the doors still locked. if a window was broken and the accelerator was pressed, the engine would cut out so it cant be driven off.

my G400d doesnt have remote start. But i remember on the previous G class (W463, up to 2018) an auxiliary heater was an optional extra and had its own fob, that you could heat or cool the car from without needed to start the car. Not sure how well it worked though.

This. It was on the options for my G350d. My caravelle has an auxillary heater, now disconnected as it developed a fault and would drain the battery...

Just a minor observation - you’ve got a G350d but a 2024 model? The G350d was discontinued in 2020, replaced by the G400d, which is now replaced by the current G450d..

Remote heat using the battery is an option too however if the battery is not charged it fires up the engine. Ive walked out to the car numerous times when it is not charged and canhear the engine on!
