I'm just looking at ordering a new G Wagon, G500 AMG Line Premium Plus - Does anyone know if any discounts are being offered on this model at the moment?

I know back in Covid times there used to be a 12+ month waiting list and no discounts being offered, but just wondered if anything had changed?

As always, any advice would be appreciated

Thanks

Given the values of used ones my guess is no chance. I'm not aware of the G Class ever being under discount from a main dealer. I'd anticipate the same waiting list too!

Now that the UK dealers operate on the 'Agency' basis, dealers no longer own the new vehicles they display and sell new cars at fixed prices.
There seem to be occasional dealer 'Events', where a tiny amount is knocked off the prices of cars on display, but it sounds as though the days of haggling are over.

Thank you both irfan1712 and Dewi 2 for taking the time to reply.

Having researched further, you're both absolutely spot on with your advice.

There's no discount off prices and a 10-12 month waiting list. Unless you're flexible on spec and will accept whatever's currently available, then you're possibly looking at 2-3 months delivery with no discount (but I don't want the typical "black on black" spec, so will have to wait).

So you're both absolutely right.

Many thanks once again for taking the time to reply.

Mine is black on black (G400d). I told myself i'd never want a black car again but as so many cars are colour sensitive, in my eyes, a Black G just works hence why they are so commonly found in black.

I looked for almost a year to find a Hyacinth Red G, but they were far and few between. As much as i love the Hyacinth Red im still glad i went for black. Mine is a daily and it is murder to keep clean and constantly challenges my OCD though!

Afraid you have zero chance of a discount on any G due to them all being hand built to order at the factory in Austria.

Even if there is there is the odd dealer stock car sitting about, Mercedes have no need to offer any form of discount. Positive news if you own one, as it means residuals are strong.

Very much doubt there'll be any discounts to be had.....

I sold my s/h G at auction after 10 years. I made 25% more than I paid, and would probably have got more selling privately.
