Hi all,

I've got a 6310i to use with my Command system in my CLK W209. Put the phone in the cradle last night and got the "Initialising phone. Please wait" message on the screen which was there some 20 mins later... How long does Command need to initialise the phone??

Cheers,

Steve

It should take seconds, double check you have the right cradle, the part number on the back should be B67875822. Some of the older cradles for the 6310 will accept a 6310i phone physicaly, but not actually work.

Cheers sneijder - I'll check the numbers on the craddle and post back what it is, if different from what you've listed.

Steve, orwight matey No, nothing sinister re the Boxster bar the sports seats over long distances. Both of us got back ache if going anywhere over 2hrs in duration. The CL whatsit is superbly comfortable in that respect. Fancied a change of brand anyway!

Hope you, the family and fleet are well.

Best,

Steve

Just been out to look at the craddle (under armrest jobby). The part number listed is A209 820 0051. Anyone know what Nokia model it should work with?

Steve, I'll email yer tomorrow.

Your cradle has a curly wire on it doesn't it ?, your cradle is for Nokia 5/6 Series, but I'm thinking your hands free wiring isn't compatible with your phone. The cradle for your phone (Part no : B67875822 £130.27) plugs into a different type of connector, to fit the right cradle and get it all working would mean a bit more rewiring under the tunnel and a bit more money I'm afraid.

Yup, curly wire version it is. It sits under the armrest and is already wired into the Command system. The phone I had has gone back anyway due to another issue so I'll have to look for a 5/6 series compatible phone as you suggest.

Cheers,

Steve

If you do that, just make sure it's an oldy worldy Nokia, without the 'i' on the end, and you should be good to go.

Thanks again, sneijder. I'll give the National Trust a buzz and see if they have a non-'i' in their collection of olde artifacts

Do you know if I can replace this cradle for one that will work with a Motorola V500? Easily do-able?

ATB,

Steve

Mine does tis sometimes (it's a latest spec C-Class, with 6310i). Mostly it's OK, but now and again I check and find it's still waiting. The only thing to do seems to be to remove the phone, turn it off and on again, then put it back in the cradle.

Well sneijder was right - it was a prehistoric Nokia that was needed. My wee brother had a 61xx stashed in his office draw gethering dust which does the job fine. Cheers fella
