C63 204 vs 205?
Discussion
I’ve owned a first gen C63 w204 saloon back in 2010 and also a 1st gen W205 estate about 4 years ago.
I’ve had a lot of cars over the last 15 years but two stand out for with one being the w204 saloon.
I’m now thinking of getting another w204 saloon or a w205 coupe as don’t need 5 seats anymore and do like the shape of the coupe with the slightly wider rear arches and pan roof option and the saloon I think is the best W204 shape.
Both can be had now for similar-ish money and I don’t want to spend more than around £30k ideally.
My heart is saying the W204 but head saying w205 as a daily but maybe over time, the 204 won’t be what I remember as things have moved on.
I did like the W205 too but remember the road noise was pretty bad, the ride not great and the interior carbon fibre centre console felt pretty cheap and creaked a lot. It was more modern inside but I didn’t think it that was that nice.
The 4l litre engine was really nice though and the gearbox better and being a 2017 car, the noise before the off filters was brilliant but both engines and noise were great.
Has anyone else had both recently and if so, which do you prefer as I’m really undecided and test driving both Is pretty hard with both cars not having much availability local-ish to me.
Is the ride better on the w204 over the w205 as I think that will be the determining factor.
