W213 facelift E200 saloon.

A fault suddenly occurred, after having driven normally for 100 miles.
Was slowing for the start of a traffic queue on a dual carriageway. Pressed accelerator slightly to move ahead slowly, but no response. Pressed the pedal halfway down and there was a hesitant increase in engine speed. Fortunately we were beside a left turn, so was able to limp away from the busy road.

After turning off the ignition, waiting, then restarting, everything was normal once again.

How odd. Have any of you experienced a similar situation, or have an explanation?

I had what appears to be the same problem with an SLK55 - 2005
It was when I pressed throttle pedal all the way down, would only give seemingly half power, delayed response.

Turning on and off would cure it.

I bought a used throttle pedal from a 'Breakers' and it cured the problem,
Lots of pin connectors where it connects to car.

Really simple job, from memory one screw.

Hope this may help.
