Hi. Have a 2002 C240
The A/C OFF light is permanently Red which means the AC is not working.

I had a friend check my High/Low pipes and said the pressure was 30PSI and will get his tools to try and re-gas etc.

What is the most likely reason the A/C does not work ? All the fuses are fine, I have checked them.

Thanks

In my experience, the condenser is the most common reason. That’s because it’s usually mounted right I front of the radiator and in the firing line for debris kicked up from traffic front …

The system really needs a dye injection and leak test before it is re-gassed.

Would the air con still work to some degree though even if the condenser is clogged up with debris ? I just get a red light saying " AC Off " and the light never disappears.

Friend of mine will be re-gassing soon so will try that and leak test as suggested above. If the car is 22 Years old, never been regassed and still has 30PSI on the Low side... surely there is no leak ?
Not sure what the high side was but I will find out soon

There are no fault codes when scanning with OBD2

Start by removing the gas, working how much is left in the system then presure test.

It may work - but if the condenser is at fault, it won’t be clogged, it’ll be punctured, which is where your refrigerant might have gone.
