W124 500E OR E500

Anyone had experience of running one of these monsters ?

I have all the buying guides etc so know what to look for - just asking for general opinions re handling, speed etc

..who cares, Just buy it, please! Use your heart you know it makes sense - then you can tell us all about it. The car is a legend where I work. One of my guys has an original brochure, he was going to ebay it. I wonder if I can scan it? I'll see if theres any worthwhile info on it.

Someone here does have one (brian drought, member bdrought I think) and is selling it.

There is plenty of chat about them at www.mercedesshop.com OK it's American but they really know what they're talking about when it comes to MB and particularly the 500E (visit the "hot-rods" section for the 500E). They're not typical American 'blingers' or 1/4 milers who don't know how to turn a corner.

I have plenty of geeky photos/videos etc of them collected from the 'net. If you are into that I can send you some (best if you have MSN messenger or something).
