My wife has noted a curious symbol on the dash of her car, a 2020 (69) A35 AMG Premium, this lights up when starting and goes out after a few minutes. I cannot find anything in the handbook, any help would be welcome.

The symbol is a blue square with a black P in it, located about 2-3 cm to the left of the gear information. It is not related to the parking brake, or appears not to be.

Could it be something to do with park assist?

It's Parktronic finding a space isn't it?

I have the same symbol on the dash of my E class. It is the park assist function.

It is quite accurate at reverse parallel parking but very very slow. I tried it a few times when Imfirst had the car and then haven’t used it since.

Was put off auto parking by an Evoque about 10 years ago. It found a space okay but then proceeded to park on the pavement.
