Right having a bit of an issue with water loss in a 1998 C200.

Water just keeps disappearing, definately no visible signs of a leak. Short journeys in and around the city and the water light can come on even if it has just been filled up, whereas on a motorway I can go for over 150 miles without light coming on. (temp stays at about 80)

Temperature does seem to get very hot even to the stage of water boiling in the radiator and the pressure getting so high that a bit can come out of the radiator cap. Tempearture on reading can get up to 100 C even at a standstill.

Anyone have any experiences that could explain whats wrong?

Cheers John

Disappearing water and high temperatures often indicate a head gasket failure. You should get a proper diagnosis from a dealer ASAP, in case any more damage is done.
