Apparently this is a thing.

Came out to car today and thought someone had clipped my drivers mirror as it was pushed back and the glass was missing. But it wasn’t on the floor and the wires had been cut rather than unplugged.

Just put it down to someone having broken theirs and stealing mine, but then saw a neighbours had exactly the same - mirror stolen and wires cut so have reported it to police for intel.

Not a vehicle theft attempt as there is no canbus there, just plain theft of electric dimming glass mirrors.
Both W204 models.

About £300 or more I hear from the dealer as someone clipped my wing mirror and broke the glass.

Or £72 from AutoDoc. Still not "cheap" but not £300

At least if they are available reasonably priced aftermarket it should mean they are less likely to be stolen - £70 not really worth stealing.

They aren’t an in-demand item as far as I can see - phoned the dealer, they said they’d only had one enquiry in the last couple of weeks and no mention of theft.
Can’t see mine on eBay or Facebook either. Just can’t see the demand to make it worth nicking them? Not like a set of wheels or a spoiler. Odd.
