I went to have a look at a AMG GT 63 s today and was informed that Mercedes UK does not allow discounts on new vehicles, but that “this allows us to offer better rates of finance.”

That ‘better rate’: 10% APR bounce

If this is correct, how are they selling cars?

This is correct - all Mercedes main dealers are now mere agents for centrally managed sales on behalf on Mercedes UK. This comes with fixed pricing on all new vehicles.

Wow. Let’s hope this improves future residuals for them.

Yes this has been in place at Mercedes dealers since the start of this year.
Aparently they operate this same business model in other countries, and some other manufacturers have already adopted it.
One would like to think that it will reduce depreciation with all 2023 cars commanding higher prices.
Whether it actually works for Mercedes in the UK remains to be seen.
