I am looking at two mercs both come in at same price
One is a 68 plate c220d 4matic auto with 70000 on the clock loads of spec including sunroof
The other is a merc c200d sport manual with 59000 on the clock
Both estates need room
Advice spec or mileage
Any pit falls

I've only ever had ford, vauxhall mainly so first venture into more luxury car markets.
Thanks in advance

It will be the option package that might make a difference. Premium? Premium Plus?

Don’t buy a Mercedes with a manual gearbox - certainly not a recent one anyway. The manuals are rubbish and there’s no reason not to buy an auto.

Wouldn’t bother with a C200d either - 1.6 diesel with a manual gearbox is far from luxury. Save your money and get a Focus instead.

If it’s got a sunroof it’ll be a Premium. 4Matic is unnecessary on a 220d for me and will hurt the fuel consumption a bit, but these are generally very economical so it wouldn’t necessarily be a showstopper. I think it adds to the servicing requirements though.

Incidentally, if you carry rear seat passengers and you’re used to a recent medium sized hatch like a Focus you might be surprised how little room there is the back of a C Class. If you use baby seat’s definitely try before you buy because the front passenger seat can be rendered useless for anyone of over 5ft with a large rear facing seat in the back. The packaging is all engine slung out the front rather than passenger space. My W205 C Class had to go when we had a baby.
