My Mercedes E Class is now over 4 years old. The warranty has expired.

MB say it should be serviced every year, or 14,000? miles. I am doing about 4,000 miles a year, using long life oiI, I intend to service the car every 2 years. How can I turn off the service reminder that says a service is now overdue?

Sounds fine to me, assuming the car isn't commuting one mile each way twice a day. On a normal use cycle I'd certainly push that to 18 months or two years.

You can't, it needs the MB laptop but you'll soon get used to it. The gentle reminder quickly disappears from the screen. By the way, I'm 112 days overdue at present. biggrin

You'll likely find that you can reset it yourself. Go search YouTube for a 'how to' guide.

Yes indeed! Sounds like it can be done, although it would presumably put a "false" service record into the car's computer if it's used to skip a service.

Think I'll continue just ignoring the message.
