Mercedes A35 AMG
Discussion
Hi All,
I'm considering replacing my 2020 Audi A4 TFSI with a Mercedes A35. Has anyone got any experience of owning one? Any potential issues? Anything to look out for? It would probably be circa 2020 model that i would be buying. I have read that some suffered from head issues? This would be the first Mercedes that i've owned so any pointers would be great

Massive problem. Look on Facebook groups, the problem is rife.
Our GLB35 just failed last month within the warranty period. 14k miles, 71 plate, new cylinder head. I was hoping it would fail before the warranty period ended, so hopefully it's fixed.
In Canada they've increased the engine warranty to 10 years, just not in the UK, so if it fails outside, then £££.

Ran a lease A35 from June 2019 until June 2021 and covered 20,000 miles. Lots of problems and poor build quality. The car interior rattled badly - even after spending time at the dealership to have the dash removed to try and fix it. When A35 owners met we compared rattles (seriously!). Spent three weeks at the dealership with three failed airbags. Watch front inner tyre wall wear. Lane assist is very dangerous when intervenes.
On the plus side - very enjoyable when driven with spirit on B roads. In fact, much more involving than the Mk 8 Golf R that replaces it. Not as fast as the R but more enjoyable - plus better sounding engine.
Any specific questions then ask away!
