New 6th generation E class launch due 25 April 2023

This E class generation is said to be the last to have an internal combustion engine.
Unusually, the interior has already been revealed by Mercedes, before the car launch.

Whats the point in the E Class then, no doubt it will become the ELA or something.

I think Mercedes-Benz say it is their biggest selling model, if so, quite an important point for them.
There is now the alternative EQE, but the purchase price is about 50% more.

Perhaps the E class will be attractive during the next few years, for those who do not yet want to go electric.
Do you remember, (at least) two examples of E class plug-in hybrids became scrap, at just 8 years old following battery failure?
Combustion engines still perfect, but cannot be used after lithium battery failure.
