S212 Subwoofer

I have an E220 Estate 2014 (S212), it has the COMMAND NTG4. I would like to install a subwoofer using an RCA out from the factory amplifier.

On the sedan model (W212) the factory amplifier is located on the underside of the parcel shelf and an RCA out can be obtained by tapping into the plug that goes into it.

Seems simple but in the estate I can’t find the amplifier anywhere.

Does anyone know where it is? Or did the Estate variant get a delete of this standard feature of the sedan?

On my S212 estate I think all the amp action is behind the dash but I may be wrong.

In any case, ComandOnline fitted an active 10 inch sub behind the rearmost LH piece of boot trim. They also stuck a volume control for it in the glovebox.

It makes a real difference. Although it's now made me notice how poor the door speakers are and I want to get them done next.

I can't remember exactly where they are but it's Surrey (I think) near-ish the top of the M3, that sort of area.

Different from mine; no amp for me there. Plus I also have the Airmatic tank in there - they had to move it back a bit to fit the sub.

If I were you'd I'd give Comand Online a call and they'll walk you through what they can do - they know Merc ICE back to front.

I'm in now way affiliated, I came across them on the MBClub forum. They put the sub in last year and a piggy-back Android/Apple head unit.

I'm going for some Morel speakers and Dynamat in the doors next. I had HK in my last E Class and miss it badly.
