Hi all

Whilst out on Friday in the SLK, was driving along at the time, an ABS light came on, also 2 lights look like a car skidding came on. All amber, not red. The dashboard flashed up, ABS not available - see owners manual.

Went out saturday to see if it had reset itself. It hadnt.

Anyone know if this is "a thing" with SLKs? It could be a dead cell in the battery maybe? Get it booked into a local independent garage I guess for them to have a look.

Car is SLK 200, manual, 2015, petrol. 23,000 on it.

Incidentally another "problem" Ive had with it since I got it is it doesnt remember the last radio station I had selected. Always comes on with Chill FM. Annoying.

Thanks

always good to check the brake light switch underneath the brake pedal.
that always cause a whole heap of issues which are totally unrelated.
a star diagnosis usually finds it.
with the diagnosis about £150 to replace.

It could be something like a wheel sensor - ABS and "car skidding" traction/stability control often use the same sensors. If it isn't what the other poster suggested, then you'll probably need to get it plugged into some diagnostics.

Thanks all.

Need to get it booked in somewhere with a diagnosis tool. Hopefully most outfits have one.

Certainly with the added traction control light is does point to either a wheel sensor or an open ABS circuit .Shouldn't be hard to track down .

Think it was ABS switch. Garage sorted it for £326 anyway. yikes
