Now Mercedes has brought pricing in house and away from the dealers I thought it would be useful if people could post details of any discounts they manage to get along with the model.

It will be interesting to see if this new business model works out for Mercedes. Personally speaking and for obvious resons I hope it does not.
Regarding people posting their discounts...I wouldnt put too much faith in this because people tend to exaggerate these things.
Under this new rule It is hard to see how a dealer could give a genuine discount on the retail price of the car, because the full price will still need to be paid to Mercedes.
I think the best we can hope for is a little juggling of the figures to make it seem like we have got something off.

I don’t think it will work personally. Certainly not in this inflationary, rising interest rate environment.

I expect discounts will be managed by dumping excess cars on the lease market and ex fleet manager’s low mileage cars.

The new business model only applies to brand new unregistered vehicles, so once a car is registered dealers then own it and are free to sell for whatever price they can get.

I was wondering this having taken a liking to the a45s There seems to be a thousand or two off but I’m not clear as to whether they are pre reg or not. I suppose the fun of negotiating is gone forever. Some good and some bad aspects to that.

Anyone heard of any good a45s discounts or failing that a dealer that’s good to deal with so if I’m paying full price I at least feel as if the dealer cares and looks after customers.

Thanks.

I've heard they aren't quite making the power they state.

As for pricing, will be interesting to watch, I got the same email but I get the feeling they are risking a fair bit of market share that might not be palatable when more affordable cars hoover it up. Ala MG.
