W221 4.7 V8 only 3 services in 11 years is it good?
Discussion
Hi lads, I was inch away today from buying an S Class 2011 4.7 V8 60k on board only. A lovely car inside and out, the only problem I found was it had done only 3 services since new, so basically the engine oil was replaced every 20k. After me this is way to many miles 20k for oil!
What do you think guys is this affected the engine already?? And it had 8 owners as well?
Appreciate for any answers.

Are you sure, or is simply that the record's not been updated. It sounds unusual to me, very few would not have been correctly serviced whilst under warranty, for a start.
If it is a 4.7, presumably the M278 tt , then it is one of the very first and some early ones had problems with the chains/tensioners, though it might well have been sorted by now if it was a problem. Has it had the gearbox fluid etc changed?
It would ring alarm bells for me, and eight owners, unless it was same person/family at different addresses, might mean 'buy, run, sell' without spending any money. On the other hand, it's not unknown for service records to have been destroyed on sale, particularly since gdpr and dealers taking the easy, uninformed, option. Caveat emptor.
