AMG Approved Warranty - Using non MB garage for servicing?
Discussion
Hey MB chaps,
I’m wondering - if you have an approved used AMG with the dealer/MB two year warranty, what servicing you’re allowed to do at a non MB dealer / specialist without causing aggro in case of a claim?
Example: getting brakes fitted elsewhere with Brembo parts, rather than MB logo pads and discs. Would this be grounds to reject a warranty claim for a turbo or engine issue for example?
In theory it shouldn’t be I’d hope but does anyone have experience of using non MB dealers/garages whilst running and even claiming from an MB warranty?
I don’t want to invalidate it by using my preferred garage for fitting brakes….
TIA

I think it depends on the age of the car.
If its still covered by manufacturers warranty .i.e, under 3 years old, then you can get it serviced outwith Merc and aslong as you use genuine merc parts they have to honour the warranty.
Over 3 years old, its now a third party warranty, although very good, if you dont use a merc dealer then they won't payout.
But on saying that, if you fit non official merc brakes and the turbo blows, i think they would have a hard time rejecting that claim.
