I am considering buying an SLK55, 2005 with 80k miles, MB or specialist service up to 70k, local guys after that, is there anything I need to be wary off ??

There are various threads and a buyer’s guide. Subframe issues for sure.

Join the UK SLK facebook group. And yes, rusty rear subframes are common and problematic.

I’ve had one since May, a 114k 2005 version with an aftermarket exhaust and I’ve added a Quaife LSD. Buy on condition and note when the, front brake disks, gearbox oil and spark plugs were last changed. They also tend to leak oil at the rocker cover gasket so check to see if that’s been done or is weeping.

Other than that check that everything works, there’s no blue smoke on start up and get on with it.

They’re great cars but like a drink of the good stuff - 98/99 Ron unleaded.
