Dear friends. I have recently been able to apply for the Certificate of Conformity (CoC) for my 1999 B3 Alpina as well as my 2000 Boxster S and use this to register for ULEZ compliance.

My brother has a R107 car which we want to try and do similar for. Who can we write to to get the CoC at Mercedes? Has anyone here had any success with this?

R107 is not Ulez compliant so no point in getting a COC. Most if not all R129 SLs are not compliant either.

I thought any car over 40 years old wasn't required to pay the ulez charge?

Many of the R107 SLs are still not quite 40 years old. My brother in laws car is 1986 which is therefore 36 years old. I believe that they built the R107 until 1989 with some very late cars on a H plate in 1990 before they moved to the R129 shape.
