Hi,

Wondered if any owners were local to me?

I would like to take a look at the car without annoying a dealer.

Essentially 4-6 weeks away from purchasing and its one option along with an M4 etc.

Thanks

Do you mean owners with a C63 to sell? Or do you just want to nose around some cars to learn a bit about them?

Just a nose around, I feel awkward at a garage to be honest when I haven't decided what car I want to buy.

You feel awkward showing an interest in a car that you may well buy sometime soon?

No. Just go there, and when the sales dude/tte strikes up a conversation, explain your plan. In my experience, they’re more than happy to let you have a proper look.

A private owner might think the other option is a little creepy.

I tried the local Merc garage and they were incredibly unhelpful to be honest and didn't seem interested at all.

Generally they aren't many about either without travelling looking online so it limits my options.

BMW garage I did just pop in and they were the polar opposite and even chucked me the keys even though I said wasn't yet in a position to buy.

I take it you’re buying new? Having a positive experience with a car dealer is like Russian roulette with a single clear chamber.

I may be wrong but I think the c63 is pretty unavailable at the moment, we’re in the state of limbo between old and new. Although no excuse, that could explain the lack of interest from their side.

Used, not new. It was to look at a used example they had.

I expressed interest in one when it hit AT with little details and the main dealer has been hounding me to visit to point I told them to stop calling and emailing since I learned it has zero options.

It's a buyers market. I've been following that budget on AT and they're not selling. One 2017 C63 at Sytner that did tempt me dropped from £34,500 to £31,000 over about 6 weeks. There's a couple of AUCs but they have zero options and not selling.

For what it's worth, I've just sold my M4 and after almost three years, I've had no seller's remorse. I'm an ex-C63 owner and want another.

I'm sure a helpful petrolhead will be delighted to give you the tour of theirs.

I had a pre-facelift C63S. I didn't like it. I wish I had bought the RS4, having now driven my friend's and realising what a brilliantly realised thing they are. C63 very much a one trick pony, and not very comfortable either.

Just my 2p, hope you find something you like.

Interesting. I love the RS4 for its build quality and all weather driving capabilities, but found it lacked the drama and driving dynamics of the C63. I would definitely like to give ownership a try in the future, but the fact they moved to a V6 was a little disappointing, sounds like I need to look past that.

some people love the combo of massive power and RWD lairiness. Personally it panics me a bit at times as you don't often get perfect road conditions in the UK, and also it's not like you would be sensible to powerslide on public roads in any case. I see this as potentially the biggest downside of the merc, as it frames it more like a mustang than a sports car. I think the later versions are AWD though, but i suspect they won't have totally cannibalised the hooligan attributes.

Your wasting your time it’s Mercedes in Chester , I bought a brand new one off the salesman who lives in the same town as I do , we went to look at a few cars in the Chester branch as the missus was considering changing cars . The salesman who sold to us acknowledged us but that was it , everyone else ignored us .
