Im after a car and quick
Discussion
After my c63 catching fire the Friday before the covid lockdown, I've not had a car..
I know I've left it a bit late, but i start a new job next week and require a car.
Im quite taken by the mk1 slk 230 kompressor or 320 v6. I know they can suffer from rust, a chap at a Bristol dealer that has one in said he's not sure a 20 year old cars suitable for doing 220 miles a week in it. I thought they would be fine if they've had a good service history and a clear MOT.
What are the main things i should be looking out for on this marque of car and if its not suitable to do 220 odd miles a week in then what should i be looking for. I've found a few E320cdi's that seem more sensible and fairly brisk for their size and output.
All help and points of view welcomed !

I had an R170 SLK230 Kompressor in spanish waiter presentation for 9 years as a daily
Fred here
I asked on here for info on them before I bought it
probably lots of good info here that's applicable
If it's not in that info thread check the spare wheel well on a regular basis for water ingress - the modules in the boot don't like getting wet
I've since had an R171 SLK200 komp and currently run an R171 SLK55 so I think I can say I'm a fan now
Yes they aren't sports cars but they are a pleasant way to cover miles although from a comfort perspective 200 miles and my bum goes a bit numb but that's normally time for a break from driving anyway

Thanks for the info. I did think they should be ok as a DD, just good to have a 'checklist' of things to go over. Fred here
