Busted left hand, gear changes now hurt when done repeatedly

And commute home in traffic

Budget £5500

Looking at CLC180K automatic's

Any advice or horror issues on these?

These engines may have timing-chain/chocolate VVT sprocket issues - see this, especially the sixth post on this page: https://forums.mbclub.co.uk/threads/the-complete-m... . I'd also check when the gearbox fluid was last changed - should be about every 4 years / 40k.

The CLC has a worse view out of the back than the C-class Sport Coupe that it is based on, as it doesn't have the little window below the hatch. If I were buying a CLC, I'd probably get an SE which is on cheap 205/55/16 tyres, rather than a Sport on 18" which won't help the ride quality.

looked at the fix prices

£700 for just the chain if lucky

Just over £2000 if all parts needed

so its in the nope pile now.
