Are they serious ? £180,000 ? The initial reports on the release stated prices starting from 100k,they start from just under 150k for the SL55 .

I was very surprised when I saw the pricing and doubt that they will be selling many at that price.To my mind it is at least £50K overpriced. I wonder whether the AMG GT when it comes out later this year will be similarly priced? I know at least 2 people that had their names down for one who have now cancelled their interest. Depreciation on AMG's is already horrific and I guess will be horrific X2 with this latest model

This sort of pricing are here to stay. Looking at current print in

E53 estate - over £70,000
E63 estate - over £90,000

In fact, I was at the dealership last week and saw a C220 diesel estate for over £42,000!

PCP = higher prices

PCP = higher prices
People have been buying most cars on PCP for a long time now so unless finance companies are prepared - or manufacturers help prepare them - for percentage residuals to increase materially then this is going to mean much higher monthly prices. Sure residuals are high at the moment but most of these reasons will likely be gone at the end of newly written PCP contracts.
