E class coupe aircon blinking

Hi chaps

Aircon gone south....
It was low on gas but had it recharged and still getting 3 blinks of the red air con light.
It's had star on it and it doesn't locate a fault but resetting it by star makes it work for a few minutes.
Any idea as the garage will be starting parts darts

Had the same on my w204 C63.
Needed a new condenser.
Original MB condenser plus fitting about £900

Not cheap then, it's just throwing parts at it till something works could be very costly..

My S211 AC light was flashing due to lack of gas caused by a hole in the condenser, once I replaced it and had the system vacuumed and regassed the code still had to be cleared before the AC would work again. Took a bit of dismantling to replace:

I’d go back to the diags until you have something firmer, if it’s showing low pressure verify with a guage, if the guage disagrees look at the sensors. If it is loosing pressure find the hole.

According to Star there's no fault, it's just been regassed and checked so the underlying cause is not known and the tech hasn't come across this before.it could be a sensor it could also be the control panel, but it's time money parts bill could grow rapidly until we get to problem.
It does work tor a shot period when reset but then turns off when it doesn't like something!
