I’ve had a W164 for many years now- even before the MB warranty expired it had required a front ABS sensor to be replaced. I find I’m having to replace a sensor once about every 18 months. None of my other cars have done that or are doing that (touch wood).
It’s always a different sensor and alternates between front and rear.
Is there a known issue ?

Many thanks

I think you'll find it's just the age of the cars. I've replaced 2 in the 5 years I've owned my 2010 X164 (GL). The OE ones aren't cheap at just over £100 each but so long as it's one of the old ones I'm replacing each time and I'm not replacing one I've already replaced then it's not really an issue with the quality it's just part of running an older car. The front nearside one failing had an interesting side effect, the sat nav stayed stuck at the location it failed at until the new one was fitted.

I look at it as I could spend a few hundred every now and again to keep the car running correctly or alternatively lease a new GLS and spend over £1000 every month. I'll stick with the old car thanks.

Perhaps it is just age - My older Saab (owned from new) hasn’t required anything and I’ve now replaced ALL the abs sensors on the ML twice.

I absolutely agree with it being cheaper to replace the parts than trade in for a new one. I’ve had it since it was 10 months old, it’s the grand edition so has all the toys and there is nothing I can see at present that I’d replace it with. It’s the 350 diesel which replaced a 350 petrol. Not a fan of the diesel engine but I don’t really care what powers the family tank-might go electric next time when something piques my interest

Thanks for the reply
