Hi everyone, I picked up a new to me c43 on Friday, very impulsive buy, kept driving past it every day on the way to work, stopped by on Friday after work to “look at it” ended up driving away with it!

Anyway long story short. The exhaust has been modded, it sounds lovely when pressing on, but very droany when just cruising, and really noticeable in comfort due to anyways being low revs high gear, I’m going to phone some exhaust places in the week and see what they suggest, but does anyone know what’s needed to take it back to standard? I don’t mind it being a little louder than stock (no performance exhaust ) but this is a bit too much

I know nothing about exhaust mods, can anyone actually tell what’s been done by looking at the invoice?

Thanks

I know little more than you, but presumably silencer(s) replaced with 2.5" pipe.

Being just 1m of stainless I would guess the resonator has been removed.

What year car have you got. I had a 2017 MY one and the stock exhaust (well with sports upgrade) sounded perfect to me.

Better than both my MY2020 and MY2021 C63s

Thanks for the replies, will get it on a ramp somewhere to find out for sure this week..

It’s a 66/2017 car, I got my mrs to drive it and from the outside it does sound really nice, just a bit too droany inside, annoying really! Hopefully I’ll take it somewhere and they can keep the sound the same and remove the drone..

Mind you when the burminster stereo is turned up it’s hard to hear anything else, I’ve had quite a few cars, but the burminster is better than the other offerings from the Germans!

Ah good so its early enough that it will sound good (post MY 2018 the extra legislation mean they dont sound great). I'd try to get back to stock. Do you have the sports exhaust button that opens the valve?

What colour combo did you go for; mine was Silver w/blue hood. Great car
