A parking incident over Christmas means that I need a new rear light and rear parking sensor for my W204 C63 estate. Both of them look simple to fit, so I'd rather get the parts and do it myself. I can get aftermarket parts off ebay, but I'd like to get a quote for official parts... Except everytime I call the merc service line I wait for an hour without an answer. How do people go about getting official merc parts - am I best off just going to a dealer?

Thanks
Matt

You could try the MB Newcastle shop on E-Bay.

I call the Mercedes dealer and speak to the parts counter. As well as my local dealer I have found MB Grangemouth to be helpful, especially if you mention the Mercedes forum.

You haven't tried to contact Mercedes Peterborough then .... you can never get through, we have swapped to a different dealer who answer the phone or come back with a quote very quickly. Mercedes Boston are so much better.

I can get the part number and RRP from the reg number if it helps.

I've found Peterborough respond very well to emails. Alternatively I've used Stevenage, although I'm not sure how convenient they are for you.

MB Newcastle and Edinburgh have ebay shops; if they don't list an item, contact them and, if they have it in stock, they can create an item no. and go from there. As already suggested, Grangemouth are good on the phone. Have used all three, all gave good service/prompt delivery.

I've also found the parts desk at my local dealer helpful and pretty competitive price-wise, but buggers for picking up the phone when you ring. That doesn't seem to be peculiar to Mercedes though.

Something that made Mercedes part selection a lot easier for me was using a VIN decoder to find all the Mercedes options codes on the car, then on EPCs you can rattle through the different variants until you find the part number that covers each of the options codes you have. For example, I had to apply about half a dozen different codes to find the right door mirror glass for my E-class.

If you PM your reg I can get the prices for you.
I’m a Mercedes specialist, I have access to the Mercedes EPC system and get delivery’s from them daily.
