Mercedes: Trim clips with gaskets?

Folks,

Have a 2009 E class coupe. Took some of the inner boot trim off to cure a minor leak and seem to have created a major leak. D’oh!

I am puzzled as when I removed it there was loads of crap underneath, therefore I cleaned it all up. I thought that replacing it with lots of silicone sealant would help, but no.

The only different factor I can find is that my trim clips don’t have gaskets on like the originals. They are from eBay and otherwise do fit well.

Is this likely to be a Merc part? Waiting for the parts department to come back on Weds!

Either way it’s a crap design which relies on clips to make a good seal over the rear light relays!

Guessing its the green ones and they look to have the gaskets on them

Thanks, great shout, not sure re diameters and the like. Ones I’ve found on eBay fit perfectly but don’t seem to seal.

I’m hoping the plastic moulding isn’t eleventy million quid from Merc and they may have improved it over the years!

Should have just gone to Merc in the first place!
Really strange trim clips with a sealed sleeve on the bottom edge. Now in place and hopefully leak free!
