R129 320 STARTING ISSUE

This one has me scratching my head

2000 320 SL

Cold starts no problem

When car is hot , it fires up but is undriveable , pops and bangs , runs terrible.

If I disconnect the battery for 5 seconds , reconnect , she starts & runs perfectly .

Any ideas ?

Have you read the codes?

I had a very similar problem with my R129, it was the wiring from the coil packs braking up. The small gauge wires, not the HT leads. Mercedes supply a repair kit, been as good as gold ever since.
