I know theres a few owners on here so I'm just after some thoughts on a particular car - https://shop.mercedes-benz.co.uk/vehicle-detail/me...
I currently drive a 66 plate GTS coupe in selenite grey. Love the car but I do get pangs for roofless motoring hence looking at the GTC.
I've been offered a 17ishk cost to change on the above, which includes 2 years AMG warranty (worth 3k in itself).
Just after thoughts on how much better the GTC really is over the GTS - is it 15k better?
The GTC is a year newer and half the miles of my car.

I'm just in such a quandry (I know - first world problems) as to which way to go here.

1st world indeed, that is a nice looking car, I'm not usually in to white cars or black wheels but works. I'd see if I could work a bit more into the deal. Good luck any way.

Hi there.....I have had both a GTS and a GTC.....I’m sure you know the difference technically between the two, but biggest, obvious difference is that the GTC is wider, has more grunt, 4 wheel steering, and a soft roof! I really enjoyed my GTS and GTC ownership but one thing bothered me about GTC. Unlike the GTS where visibility all round is great, it is severely restricted in the GTC.....which, I know, is easily solved with the roof down! I also tended to use it less as I didn’t want the fabric roof to get wet....😏. Was the GTC worth the extra money...? I think it can only ever be a personal choice. I did the jump, and as I look back I don’t regret it. As I don’t regret having now gone for the GTR!

Good luck,

Regards Brin

Thank you smile
Agree on the visibility. It's not that bad but not as good as the GTC.
Deal done anyway - I'm very happy smile
Wasn't 100% on the white at first but in the flesh it really does look good.
GTR - hmmm!! Best get some miles with the GTC first before temptation strikes again wink

So did you go for the upgrade?

What are the reasons for the GTC have worse visibility than the GTS? I thought the GTC are just wider at the rear but all other dimensions are the same?

ha, GTR, 'best' of both worlds I guess, sadly they gone up big in price instead of going down for a few years as 'normal' just when I was waiting for that 15-20k drop in price, they've gone that 15-20k up in price and are still the same...

First I was thinking of buying a GTS edition 1 (real one with also edition 1 in the steering wheel) then I heard and saw a lot about the GTR which was totally different testers said and showed, so...hm ok, then going for that... then the GTC (coupe) a in between car, a bit heavier, a bit less power (then GTR) but the same-ish 4-wheel steering, but... about 15-20k of the GTR which is way more interesting, also for later selling in some years and a bit more 'raw' but not uncomfortable.

so... still looking also at the edition 1, but can't get over the point that I really would like the GTR so it would get the attention from me and the happy feel feeling with it.

So I will wait if they get around that 100k or first go for something else with a V8 or maybe flat 6 Restomod classic or 991-2 rare Turbo S (580ps) or 997 GT2 or 991 GTR RS or a Wiesmann with tuning (light and fast with normal side windows) or or or, I have to many on my bucket list... and only place for 1 car, otherwise I could buy 2 cheaper-ish cars, not that I drive much, but so nice to own when you have the room, which I have not biggrin but, maybe better for my head, 1 car is one less worry the 2 cars hehe

I did indeed. Absolutely love it and all the small changes over the GTS add up to a huge overall change.
In terms of visibility, it's only roof up. There's no rear qtr windows so side view when reversing is a touch limited.
Roof down zero issues smile

My GTC would be the last to go, cc brakes, 720hp, cup2s and love annoying GT3 RSs on track, the boulevard cruiser is epic on track.
