Hi there just wondering if any PHers are Merc Benz Owners Club members, and just seeing who is going to the meet at Burghley House?

I should be going along with a group of C124 and A124 owners.

Is anyone from my area (Norfolk) going?

Im going along in my car whose pic is on my profile. So if u c me come over and say hello!

Look forward so seeing any fellow PHers there!

Traitor, owning a VW group product!

Does the Leon seemed a bit unconvincing after the fluid, smooth, solid feel of all those Mercs? Like they engineered it to 85% then put it on sale?

I'm more into the pre-1997 type stuff and have always cynically suspected these meetings might be more popular with newer MB owners - e.g. SLK/CLK - and 'blingers'..

Let us know what it's like.

LOL! the 2 Leon's have been my brother's cars. And yes they have a plastic feel to them! Not as well put to together as the mercs. On his first one (and all under warranty thank god) he had a few major things go wrong. One of which was his turbo blew up! (on a TDI).
Whereas ive stuck with the good ol' 3 pointed star. We have the 230E, which me and my bro have both had as our cars, then he went over to Leon's and I got the E320 Coupe. Ive driven the Freelander, but it does its job as off roader (taking mum to tescos, lol) and the CL is kinda their wkend car.
I'm with you on the pre-'97 cars. All those introduced after r those models which have let the side down in terms or quality. However the 1st C-Class (W202) and first quad head lamped merc (W210 E-class) did c the early signs of merc "Cheapness" coming in!
I dont think i'll deviate from the 3-pointed star!
