Smart car battery replacement…

Ok - not a Mercedes per se - but there’s not a Smart forum. Has anyone ever changed a battery on a Smart car - after 23 years of playing with cars and race cars I’m fooked. I can’t get the bloody thing out. Any tips?

There are a couple of forums out there. FQ101 and pay for forum evilution.
The battery should be fairly simple albeit in a confined space. Ther is a metal bar that goes over the battery. Get that out of the way and it should be plain sailing. Carpet will have to be well back.
