2016 W205 & Spotify on iPhone... nightmare

maybe someone else has tips here... i just bought a 2016 W205 and updated Komand etc to latest version. When my iPhone (XS Max running iOS 14.5.1) is connected via USB but the phone capability is also connected, I can only keep spotify working for so long. Somewhere between one click of 'next' and say ten clicks, it craps out and for some reason starts playing the alphabetically first song stored on the phone in apple music. I really hope this isn't an issue I am stuck with as it renders Spotify pretty much unusable and Car Play is not available on this car!!

yea i did a bit of reading on the issue and from that and from what you're saying it does seem that is something i need to try. I don't have the car until Saturday so will try it then. Thanks
