Hi

I am trying to quickly source a replacement for the annoying plastic wrench/spanner key tool that is used to remove the extended centre cap on all of the alloy wheels. This is the thing that has a 16mm socket on one side and a large notched ring on the other side, and is basically a critical and yet somehow also flimsy item.

it's this:

The covers are only meant to be fitted basically hand-tight and yet every tyre guy under the sun seems on a mission to wrench the shape off the socket side.

Every supplier I can see online is sending from abroad and won't arrive for 1 week at least, and Merc themselves charge over £100.

Any ideas please?
thanks

the urgency fortunately disappeared as the caps were able to be removed, and so i bought a genuine one with a longer lead time.

£100 seems a bit excessive!

We needed one for my brothers C-Class, it was around the £25 mark direct from Mercedes and they had it on in stock there and then.

He then took it home only to find the original in the garage. rolleyesbiglaugh

Worth more as a pair and they may breed given careful husbandry wink
