Manual gearbox on a 2002 CLK 230 Kompressor

Anyone on here had problems with the 6 speed manual gearbox on a 2002(52) CLK 230 Kompressor?

Anything in paticular ?, they aren't the tightest 'box in the world.

A friend of mine is having major probs with his gearbox and the second gear, he can't select it on occasion.

Merc has replaced the box under warranty and it's still the same.

The Merc dealership is no longer being helpfull and he suspects that they wont admit to a major design fault.

The latest box's have apparently been re-designed.

Yeah, common prob. Everyone I have moved has difficult selecting 1st or 2nd. Thats the reason they wont sell you one unless you beg. Put a match under it and buy an auto quick.
