Anyone know if theyre the same? Cant find anything definitive..

We just sold our W222 S63 saloon to get the cabrio (tested the S63) and a must for us are the seats that are in the AMG versions (designo i believe) but i’m not ‘that’ bothered about the power this time round, so could quite happily plump for the 500 but i’d want the same seats and as many of the toys as possible (burmester being another)

I quite like the Panamercana grille to so post 2017 i think, but i think this is an S63 detail only?

Were there night edition 500s?

Burmeister will just be part of the premium plus pack and imagine you can aftermarket fit an OEM panamerica grille.

Seats will be very tricky as I believe they are AMG only.

I noticed that the interior leather and seat quality in the S63 cabrio was significantly higher than the S500 cabrio, presumably you can spec up an S500 to get the same quality, but not entirely sure. In general just getting an S63 again is probably easier.

Ok, thanks, i’ll look up PPP and see what else comes with that, i’m guessing the 3d system offered in the saloon isnt available in the C/A217? not really necessary anyway as i thought the std Burmester to be excellent, just that we didn't have 3d in our saloon but thought this time around it’d be nice to compare if it were available.

Grill is a bumper change as well i think, about 5k all in and then you’re 63 prices and although my thoughts were not to do with money (more car & colour choice with the 500) i’m probably (as you say) best getting an S63 again, though i think the 5.5 pre facelift was a peach & for luxo cruising, a better option i think. We have the 4.0 tt in our other car and its epic but the 5.5 was more effortless (both mapped) ill think on...

Seats i’ll have to investigate further from what youve said, i’ve now read elsewhere that they are the same bar covering being different, i’ll go and have a look at a 500..

Designo multi contour seats (the amg seats) were speccable (?) on the S class saloon so maybe they were on the 500, i’ll poke around the models currently for sale, i appreciate your experience of sitting in both, i’ll have to do the same.

2017 S63 5.5 cabriolet (non facelift being the 5.5 i think)

2017 S500 coupe facelift with designo seat upgrade (states massage, ventilated etc)

look very similar & guessing the different leather pattern is due to facelift, bolsters dont look quite as beefy, maybe they’re not dynamic bolsters? I wouldnt want to loose that tbh as we like that.

Hm yes, they do look very similar there. You may have to do a lot of shopping around to find the right spec S500, but looks like it might be possible, the issue is just finding one where someone decided to spec it up fully, whereas most people doing that would probably just have gone to an S63 instead. Just be careful to check the dashboard leathers and so on, that's what let down the S500 for me, it seemed to be using a 'base' leather which wasn't good enough IMO, whereas the S63 as standard has higher quality leather on dash, doors, other trim. Makes a big difference to overall feel.

Great choice by the way, the S63 Cabriolet I test drove was one of the nicest cars I've ever driven, absolutely sensational, sooo luxurious, but went for a Range Rover instead as realistically needed more room!

I’m pretty sure that the S500 seats aren’t dynamic, though no doubt they can be specced though I get the impression you’re buying used. I have a new S63 and it’s a superb long distance car but I’ve been very disappointed with build quality and MB attitude. My first Benz for fifteen years and my last, but I do like the car now that most of the issues have been resolved.
