C63-S + 95 RON + Octane Booster?
Discussion
I have a 2016 C63-S. We're heading up to Skye and Lewis at the end of May; where the availability of super unleaded is pretty scarce / non-existent. Is it a horrific idea to use 95 RON unleaded plus an octane booster? Or is it better just to skip the booster and go with the 95 on these cars?

I have regularly run my 63's (C and E; S and Non-S) on 95. Its absolutely fine.
From memory though the Co-op on Skye sells Super (97). I wouldnt run octane booster in it. No need.
great insight thanks v useful... more than one 63 eh!! I only just got mine 3 weeks ago, what a great car! From memory though the Co-op on Skye sells Super (97). I wouldnt run octane booster in it. No need.
i think yours are the 4.0 biturbo right?
Hope you are enjoying it.
Yes the 4.0 bi-turbo's. I just re-read my comment - I don't have more than one at once (that would be a bit greedy).
But i've had the different varieties in the past (all 4.0 cars).
I've done 3 trips up to the Highlands now, JOG, Orkney, Durness, Torridon, Plockton, Skye, Cairgorms etc!
And trip 4 will be this July; including a hop onto Harris & Lewis for the first time!

i absolutely love the car. Feels the right balance between a bit raw and a bit practical (it's an estate). I can see why you've had more than one.
You'll find the outer hebrides an interesting one for driving compared to other parts... even more windy roads, hardly any other traffic... not the longer and more sweeping fast roads of the bigger islands or the mainland. It's just incredible, scenery wise though. Unparalleled even in scotland i'd say. We don't often go back to the same place twice but we are even staying in the same cottage.

Yes it does, Broadford. Co-op is largest in quite an area. Public loos opposite are useful too! From memory though the Co-op on Skye sells Super (97). I wouldnt run octane booster in it. No need.
Used to be some in Kyle but I didn't spot a pump when passing Monday.
South - Fort William . IIRC BP & Esso.
North -
East - Tesco Dingwall & Inverness.
Have a look in the NC500 thread, might be some recommendations there too.
Edit - Ullapool location

If you are going to drive the car hard use the booster if not 95 is fine, read your manual.TopBanana101 said:
I've been looking at a 2019 E53, does this run on 95 OK, does anyone know? The problem for me is I have a fuel card restricted to 95 only, but I can give it a tank of premium from my own pocket from time to time.
You can run this on 95 RON for all of its life and have no issues. The engine management in these is sophisticated and will cope with lower octane fuel - you just won't get the headline power figures, and you'll burn more fuel to achieve what you do get.
The ECU will pull timing and reduce boost in order to avoid detonation under hard load a lot earlier than it would do if you were running a higher octane.
Ultimately you need to ask yourself why you bought one of these cars - if it's for the performance then you need to fuel it as the manufacturer specifies, if it's the sense of occasion, toys and looks, then cheaper fuel would probably be ok.
FWIW I only use V-Power in the 911, but I'm happy to put Saino's super unleaded in the E63.
