In a moment of extravagance, I gave myself a tank of BP Super Diesel (or whatever the diesel is called that costs 10p more than the standard stuff).
My E Class will get about 50 mpg on a long motorway run; however, in the 15 miles or so since i filled up, the mpg already seems to be better. I know there's no need to go for high grade fuel in this fairly agricultural engine, but would be interesting to hear if there is indeed a mpg benefit in using this more expensive fuel.
