Before I totally commit to one of these I have an insurance question. Anyone with this model care to impart what would be a reasonable fully comp. figure.
I live in a low risk area and the car would only be used for low mileages, not used for commuting to work, full no claims etc. parked on a driveway. So far I have received a quote for £589.00 from my current insurer and a quote of £1,500 from Classic Line (who I have used before), the chap from Classic Line agreed that the quote was ridiculous but he felt the on drive parking and capacity was the problem. I must admit I knew, that the quote would far exceed my current policy cost, and would consider that the £589.00 was probably not that bad.
Any feedback greatly appreciated.

I have recently acquired a Ml63, albeit the later 5.5 biturbo,I'm paying £503.00
Full no claims, nice area,46 year old.

I don't think its a bad price considering the performance.

I'd suggest going on one of the standard comparison websites and trying there, it's a quick way to get a lot of quotes in one hit and you may well find a good number.

It's not quite the same level of power or capacity, but I was very pleasantly surprised by the £290 quote that moneysupermarket found for my C55 estate.

For more specialist cars (significantly tuned, imports, supercars) you may need to ring around, but I think the comparison sites may work well for many AMGs.

And triple check the excess. My Saga renewal 'quietly' upped at renewal from £250 compulsory to £750 compulsory and £500 'voluntary'.

Usual musical chairs and headed back to Hastings with a £100 total.

Sure I don't need to point this out, but you all know the deal with adding your wife, sister and mother. And try and be added as a named driver to any one of their policies.

New joiner quote of £960 reduced to £315.

And make sure to stress the lower mileage (as with lockdown). This saved me over £300 on policy

Should add Central London on street parking with 14y NCB but mega claim (my fault) previous year.

And just remembered, got into a really ill tempered call from them as to why I hadn't declared the replacement windscreen two years earlier.

My explanation that when I called it in (from the motorway) insurer said call Windscreen ((whoever) and deal direct with them. Never mentioned again but not a happy underwriter years later
