Hi All,

A growing family means that I'll soon need to sell my Boxster and replace with something more practical. A C63 is top of my list for obvious reasons! I've read buyer's guides etc and have a few questions:

1. Fuel and tyres look slightly scary but should be ok given we'll likely cover 5-7k pa. Other than that, servicing costs look pretty reasonable/predictable. Obviously I'll have a fund of a few k for other things as they come up. Am I being too optimistic?

2. The car will be parked on the street, so there's no sense in buying a garage queen. I probably won't buy an approved used one - would you recommend getting an independent inspection? I'm keen to get one with as few owners as possible and with good history.

3. I'm looking at spending around 20k, maybe a bit more. Of I go pre facelift, is there any way of playing music from a phone?

Other thoughts/tips welcome, especially on how to distract my wife from the exhaust noise on the test drive!

My wife likes the exhaust noise, especially on start up.

Usual stuff with buy on condition and keep it properly serviced using an indie.

Mine is 2014 with Bluetooth to the phone, but older MBs play through an aux cable anyway. Anyway the stereo is irrelevant, just drive to the engine noise whilst you can. Car after that will sound like a Dyson with piped fake vroom vroom.
