I am hopeful that next year i can get into a gts and have been looking into it all.

One thing i cant determine is servicing and costs?

I will do no more than 5k a year, possibly less, but i assume i still have to service yearly?

what are service costs from a main dealer? are there any well respected independent garages in the south east?

I also assume that most dont bother with warranty? i see the prop recall was an issue but should be sorted now. otherwise pretty reliable cars i understand.

Main dealer prices are very reasonable. I got s service plan which covers the price of a service and was cheaper for me in the long run.

Warranty, well, that depends on how much faith you have in the car. I had one for the first 2 years, but not now.

I bought a 2015 GTS Edition 1 over 3 years ago and didn’t bother extending the warranty, nothing gone wrong although I don’t do much mileage.

Also took out a 2 yr service plan, from memory it’s around £50 per month, not a huge saving over a major at £1000 and a minor at £500-600.

Apart from the prop shaft recall there was also a cold start recall a couple of months ago although that may only be on the earlier cars.

I’d be wary of independents only because most buyers would want the main dealer stamp I would have thought.

Thanks tresco.

And i agree about the independents. I also have found in my limited experiences of main dealers that they are:

easier to complain to and react to issues.
similar priced
some will actually negotiate, doing that with an indi wouldn't go down well.
they dont leave spanners and torches in the engine bay.

maybe ive been lucky.
