In over ten years of driving one, I never knew about this.

I tried it and it did make a difference, as a driving god I am rarely going anywhere unless the car is redlining and I still benefitted. smile

Try it and come back and say if you notice the difference.

I did not, however I am an economical driver and I certainly have noticed that the car will always change up at 2000 revs in normal driving, if I ask it to lift it's skirts it will but with momentary hesitation. The trick in this situation of course is to use the Tiptronic function to overcome the standard change pattern, I constantly flick the lever towards me to keep it in the highestgear it will take; this is me in Scrooge mode.
I expect to get flamed now for my driving style!!

I've often wondered how this system copes with two drivers of differing styles. My wife drives our GL more than me at the moment and when I drive it the gear changes can be quite clunky in comparison to when she drives.

An interesting procedure....although I'm assuming it will be of little benefit if you are the only driver of your car having owned it from new and always have the same driving style.
My Mercedes is a 2020 model but the years stated only goes up to 2016 which I'm guessing is how old this information is, and also it is for key based systems when a high proportion of recent model Mercedes are keyless.

I have had mine from new in 2013 and yes it does make a difference, it transforms the car because if you have been driving sedately for a while then it will be less reactive. Worth doing regularly.

I might give it a go then adjusting the procedure for keyless.
I suppose it can't do any harm. . smile
