Can anyone give advice on what to look for, faults, known problems or even value?
Dec 2012, aventgarde est auto
83,000 miles, not sure what was extra on these
It has Sat nav, 2 owners
Would it be a 7 speed auto?
Typical real world consumption etc.
In fact anything that may help me make a decision. Ta.

Has it got the "hockey stick" shaped front running lights? If so, it is the same model as my 2011 with the 7 speed box. I get around 40 mpg on a motorway run. Long term average is around 35mpg but then I spend a lot of time in the city and when given the chance, I do give it a bootful. If it has the 9 speed box (straight running lights) then it should be a good bit better.
Fair amount of tyre noise, acceleration is great, good as a mile muncher. Cavernous boot but nowhere near as big as my 2001 E class.
It "crabs" a bit on full lock. Satnav is OK but maps are 10+ years out of date so I use Waze on my phone.
Tyres are not cheap and can be hard to find in the correct Merc fitment. Staggered wheel sizes to add to the fun, too.
Indy servicing is the way forward.
Having 7 seats is really useful!

No - that looks like the facelift model with straight lights. You should get far better economy out of that one. Providing you keep the right foot under control, of course!

We've had our 2011 E350 estate for a good few years and 50k miles. Lovely thing that has been really reliable......up until this year.

We've had a few things this year (mileage is just on 80k)

Rear air bellows. Suspension was dropping over the course of a few days if undriven - circa £1600
Front suspension control arms / bushes - circa £800
Oil cooler oil seals - circa £1400
Battery - £150
Tyres (Michelin PS4 £750)
Cooling fan £600

It'll touch 40mpg on a long run if you're gentle with it but normally is 35mpg on a run and mid 20's around town

Hopefully with the above repairs, it'll last another 80k miles now

By that date it should be the later 265bhp version, with updated engine (quite a few internal changes /dpf regn paramaters), 7g+ (ie revised) gearbox. Fairly sure all straight DRL cars are 265 versions.

40mpg @70mph should be obtainable with reasonable restraint.

Should have had gearbox fluid/filter change at 5 years.
