Car has stopped responding to remote keyfob to unlock,
Garage changed batteries in each key and I thought it had fixed it, car unlocked / locked ok at garage and again at home.
This morning, same problem again. no response to key, so had to manually use keyblade from fob in door. This unlocks car ok but alarm sounds as soon as door opens. Alarm stops when keyfob inserted in dash and car drives ok.

So why is car failing to respond to keyfob if left for more than a few hours?

Advice please?

Thanks,
Shentodj

Could it be the battery in the car itself which is low? Mercedes have a habit of throwing all sorts of odd errors when the main car battery is low.

I'm going with main vehicle battery too.

Followed advice suggesting that it may be the main car battery running low. Even though car always starts ok.
AA patrol checked it, agreed it was low and suggested buying a CTEK MXS 5.0 Battery Charger/conditioner.
Arrived from Amazon next day and battery has been on charge all day. Not finished completely, will repeat tomorrrow, but the remote fob is already working from 2ft away from door, so it's looking good.
Thanks,
